Newspaper Illustrations
I created numerous illustrations for The Voice, the student news paper at WCC. The illustration shown above was created in Adobe Illustrator for an article about the top three positions in Michigan government being held by women. It won third place in illustration at the annual Michigan Community College Press Association contest. A photograph of the newspaper print version of it is below. We decided to remove the sky color to better integrate it with the design of the paper.
For an article about meal planning I inked and painted a large illustration of various meal options, and used Procreate to create a number of spot illustrations of individual fruit and vegetables.
Additional illustrations include one for an article about the seed library at WCC completed in Procreate. As well as various spot illustrations for a set of announcements for different upcoming activities; for the kids, winter outdoors, black history month, and valentine's day. Those illustrations were created in Adobe Illustrator.
